“We’re certainly not going to win any grass beauty pageants or anything.”

That’s what Athletic Director P.J. White from St. Joseph High School in Elgin, Illinois said after a weed killer was mistakenly applied to the football field instead of fertilizer.
Two weeks ago, someone at the maintenance company that cares for Greg True Field grabbed the wrong bottle when mixing chemicals to apply to the field. The results are disastrous. An aerial view of the field shared by Jay Bubsee, Yahoo sports writer, shows evidence of the methodically placed weed killer. The dead grass is covers the entire football field.
The school is making the best of it, noting that the application was an honest mistake.
