Clients are looking for experience and for products that work; they want to know those products have been proven in the industry. EarthWorks has been selling complex carbon-based fertility products since 1988. We lead the way in not only quality dry organic fertilizers, but we also produce one of the most complete lines of liquid organic products in the turf market. Organics are about how a soil works, so we have always started with soil testing to assure the soil will allow microbes to proliferate at their best. Sea 3 is our newest liquid product and has quickly become our biggest-selling product. A liquid, Sea 3, is helping both sports turf and golf course superintendents survive the heat of the summer.

It’s all about recovery. Many of our customers’ fields host thousands of events each year, and they are expected to be as playable for the last game as the first. Compost tea-based Holganix helps sports fields withstand the constant traffic. When fields are disturbed by overuse, the living biology in Holganix helps rebuild turf. When incorporating Holganix into a turf management program, many customers decrease inputs by 50 to 100 percent, saving money and, even more importantly, providing a safer facility for players and their loved ones cheering them on.

Our customers rely on our foliar formulations, and the natural organic chelation technology that improves nutrient use efficiency, safety and compatibly — leading to operational profitability, simplicity and peak performance. After routine application(s), our customers observe, and the research confirms, improved turf vigor and increased pesticide efficacy during environmental stress. We continue to develop innovative organic solutions, such as the preventive use of phosphite (PO33-) to improve plant health, and study how plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR) can improve turfgrass water-use efficiency and improve vigor during temperature stress.

Topdressing with a good organic produces healthier, high-quality turfgrass that holds water and chemicals longer. More recently, good maintenance programs are also including the use of liquid, natural humates — such as our REV — as a way to both boost plants’ health and stretch limited dollars. Wet or dry, good organics, like reed sedge peat, are distinctly characterized by a low C:N ratio to enhance the root zone, a high cation exchange capacity (CEC) to store and supply nutrients needed for growth, a pH range of 6.0 to 7.5 and high levels of microbial activity.
