Redexim North America consolidated a distribution center in Pennsylvania and a retail location in St. Louis, Mo., into one larger location in the St. Louis area. The company also decided to bring back a manufacturing plant from India.

Pioneer Paint Featured on 11 Fields

Pioneer Athletics was the official supplier of paints, stripers, stencils and groomers for 11 games of the college football bowl season. Pioneer products appeared at the R&L Carriers New Orleans Bowl and Allstate Sugar Bowl, Louisiana Superdome, New Orleans, La.; uDrove Humanitarian Bowl, Bronco Stadium, Boise, Idaho; Little Caesar’s Pizza Bowl, Ford Field, Detroit, Mich.; Champ’s Sports Bowl and Capital One Bowl, Florida Citrus Bowl, Orlando, Fla.; Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl, LP Field, Nashville, Tenn.; Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl, Ford Stadium, Dallas, Texas; Autozone Liberty Bowl, Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium, Memphis, Tenn.; Outback Bowl, Raymond James Stadium, Tampa, Fla.; and Rose Bowl by Vizio, Rose Bowl Stadium, Pasadena, Calif.

Richard Hunter received the Irrigation Association’s Industry Achievement Award.

Hunter CEO Receives IA Award

Richard Hunter, CEO of Hunter Industries, received the Irrigation Association’s highest honor, the Industry Achievement Award. The association chose Hunter because of his contributions to advancing irrigation practices, technologies and the industry at large. He helped his father, brother and sister build Hunter Industries from the ground up, becoming president and CEO in 1994. He also served as president of the Irrigation Association in 1989.

Vanguard Engines Win Awards

The Briggs & Stratton Commercial Power Vanguard engine series received the Power Equipment Trade 2010 Dealers Choice Award. The engines took home top honors in the wheeled equipment category, one of five that also included accessory/attachment, business services, hand-held equipment and power sports/recreation. The awards are nominated and voted on by lawn and garden power equipment dealers.

Vanguard single-cylinder engines with the TransportGuard system were named the 2010 Innovative Product by RER magazine in its engines/power sourcing category. The engine series also received the magazine’s Silver award.

MiLB and Syngenta Form Partnership

Minor League Baseball has entered a Preferred Partner agreement with Syngenta. Syngenta will also be a sponsor of the MiLB Turf Managers Clinics held at Durham (N.C.) Athletic Park<0x2014>a three-part series of educational clinics for sports turf managers.

Scotts Professional Seed signed an exclusive agreement with Beijing Clover & Turf Co.

Scotts Signs Agreement with Beijing Clover

Scotts Professional Seed announced an agreement with Beijing Clover Seed & Turf Co., providing the Beijing-based seed distributor with exclusive rights to market and distribute Sea Spray seeded seashore paspalum throughout China, as well as Hainan Island. Beijing Clover also distributes Midnight II, Prosperity and Moonlight SLT on behalf of Scotts.

Horizon Expands in Las Vegas Market

Horizon Distributors, Inc. announced that it has expanded its presence in the Las Vegas market with the acquisition of Turf Equipment Supply Co., through parent company Pool Corp. The acquisition will bring three additional sales centers to Horizon’s southwest division. TES will begin to operate under the Horizon brand immediately, with no plans to consolidate or reduce the number of TES distribution locations. TES will operate within the Arizona/Nevada region of the southwest division.

The American Sports Builders Association announced the names of the individuals most recently recognized as certified builders. The following individuals have successfully completed all certification requirements: Certified Tennis Court Builders John Coll, Albert Giamei Jr., Shawn Hollingsworth, Michael McGrath, Carlos Navas, Larry Pitts, JR Rockenfield, Fred Volpacchio and Pat Walker; Certified Track Builders Mark Becker, Tod Lorenzen, Joseph Martin, Bryan Mitterling, Paul Nagle, Jameson Sheley and Todd Wiggins; and Certified Field Builders Robert Delmonico, Hector Puentes, David Quirk, John Schedler and Joe Williamson.

ASBA announced the election and installation of its officers and directors. New officers on the executive committee include David Nielsen, secretary-treasurer, and Randy Niese, indoor division president. New board members include John Schedler and Mike Edgerton. Re-elected to their current positions on the board were Kristoff Eldridge, Ed Norton and Bruce Haroldson.
