RedHawks Choose Witt Containers

The Oklahoma City RedHawks purchased new waste containers from Witt Industries, Mason, Ohio. The ball club took delivery of 45 durable metal containers designed to complement the décor of RedHawks Field at Bricktown. The containers include a plastic-coated bottom to help protect the stadium concrete.

Environmental Science Hires Wong

Environmental Science, a division of Bayer CropScience LP, has named Dr. Frank P. Wong as technical services specialist for the northern fungicide business of the U.S. With more than 15 years of plant pathology experience, Wong previously worked for the University of California, Riverside. He holds a doctorate in plant pathology from Cornell University and a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from the University of California, Davis.

Ostara Nutrient Recovery Technologies, Inc. announced that it was named to The Artemis Project list of the 2011 Top 50 Water Companies. The award recognizes Ostara’s technology innovation in providing a solution that helps protect natural waterways, while conserving a limited natural resource. Ostara was also a 2011 finalist for The Artemis Project’s APEX Sustainability Prize.

Scotts Launches New Website

Scotts Professional Seed launched a revitalized Sea Spray website at that provides turf professionals with a wide range of technical resources and end user insight regarding the grow-in and maintenance process of seashore paspalum. The site features research and educational tools, including a complete guide to turf establishment and maintenance, third-party research and a series of case studies. The FAQ section tackles questions regarding paspalum seeding, water, aesthetics and history of the variety.
