New Turbine Blower

AgriMetal has introduced a turbine blower constructed with an electronically balanced, cast-aluminum turbine propeller. The weather-resistant wireless remote system provides no-delay throttle and chute control, and each wireless system operates on its own frequency. The muffler design features strong bracketing and a large-diameter exhaust manifold. The blower is powered by a 23 hp Kohler Command Pro gas engine. An industrial 12-volt throttle actuator is used to handle intense heat. The steel fenders have impact-resistant bumpers to reinforce the overall structure. The 90-degree air chute is made of a composite material with an oblong-shaped outlet.

Sanitize Artificial Turf

The SaniTurf anti-bacterial sprayer from Gravely Turf distributes athletic hygiene products, disinfectants, sanitizers, fungicides, virucides and mildewcides. It has an 80-gallon, low-profile poly tank, and the boomless nozzle assembly sprays a 30-foot swath at 40 PSI. Powered by a 3.4 hp Briggs & Stratton engine, the SaniTurf also features a six-roller pump that provides up to 31.8 GPM and 100 PSI.

On Your Side

Earth & Turf Products has introduced light material sides for its MultiSpread model 320. With this option, the 1-cubic-yard topdresser virtually doubles its capacity when spreading light materials such as compost, sand, infield mix, calcined clay, crumb rubber and grass clippings. Maximum load capacity using the light material sides is 3,600 pounds. The sides are available for dealer or customer installation.

True Blue

New and improved True Blue starter rope is now available from Stens, with all-new features and a new color. The rope will not absorb humidity, and therefore will not lose strength. It also has a coating with increased abrasion resistance. The rope stays soft, flexible and clean throughout use. It is available in 100 and 200-foot spools of solid braid rope.

Synthetic Turf Sweeper

The latest product in T.I.P.’s professional turf care line is the SW48-A synthetic turf sweeper. Similar to the SW48-M Mars-type sweeper, this model picks up debris from the field and passes it across an articulating screen, separating out turf infill material and depositing it back onto the field. The remaining debris is collected in an easily removable hopper at the rear of the machine. The brush height is micro-adjustable and brush rotation is controlled remotely by an electric clutch.

Biological Control for Nematodes

Pasteuria Bioscience has received registration from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for Econem, its biological nematicide for control of sting nematodes in turf. The active ingredient in Econem is based on Pasteuria spp., a class of naturally occurring soil bacteria first discovered over 50 years ago and identified as an effective agent for nematode control. The company has developed a proprietary manufacturing method that allows multiple strains of Pasteuria to be manufactured through traditional fermentation methods. Initial field trials conducted with Econem have shown it to significantly reduce root damage caused by sting nematodes, thus improving turf density and stimulating new root development. The product will initially be launched in Florida and select southeastern states following state registrations.

Take Control

ITT’s new Bell & Gossett Technologic 502 variable-speed pump controller uses the latest-generation hardware platform with advanced pumping software to create an energy-saving system. It controls up to four parallel pumps and has four analog inputs for a combination of zone, flow and suction sensors. Customized algorithms handle a range of pumping applications, and there are safeguards against damaging hydraulic conditions, such as flow surges. It features local and remote start/stop capability, RS-485 communications and plain English diagnostic display with soft-touch keypad switches.

Wireless Programming

Hunter Industries has introduced the first wireless decoder programmer and diagnostic tool for its ICD two-wire decoder control systems, the ICD-HP (ICD Handheld Programmer). The battery or USB-powered unit permits a full range of functions with installed decoders. The programming cup, supplied with 6 feet of cable, communicates with decoders through the waterproof module using a patented wireless induction technology. The ICD-HP can address multistation decoders in any order and allow stations to be skipped for future expansion. It can also flash update the decoder’s operating system. The unit includes a shock-absorbing cover, splash-resistant controls and industrial-grade resin carrying case. The backlit control screen has adjustable contrast for outdoor conditions.

Handle Corrosive Chemicals

The IFH Group now offers a Special Product Package version of its Fluid Storage and Dispensing System, designed for applications involving corrosive chemicals and other abrasive fluids that require special handling for safety and efficiency. The standard PVC sight gauge on the front of the steel containers is replaced by a glass sight gauge equipped with ball check fittings at both ends. Underneath the containers are .75-inch NPT fittings and flex steel hose for resistance to fluids that may damage the PVC hose on standard IFH systems. The Special Product Package can be supplied with new IFH fluid storage and dispensing systems or as a retrofit to existing systems.
