Not everyone gets a bobblehead of his or her likeness. You have to deserve it. You have to have done something worthy … very worthy.

John Street, a longtime associate professor of turf science at Ohio State University, recently received a gift of a bobblehead in his likeness from his peers at the university for all he has accomplished. Street, who received a Ph.D. from Ohio State in 1974, is retiring June 30 after having spent 35 years teaching at the university.

“He has dedicated his life to educating industry professionals not only through his research, teaching and extension at Ohio State, but also as the Ohio Turfgrass Foundation’s (OTF) executive secretary and director of education,” said Brian Laurent, OTF’s executive director. “He is largely responsible for the recognition that the OTF conference has earned as one of the finest education events in the country.”
