After a mega-successful career playing on NFL fields, former Baltimore Ravens star Ray Lewis is now in the business of designing them. Lewis and Sports Field Holdings Inc. – a product development company involved in the design, engineering and construction of athletic fields and sports complexes – recently announced a three-year partnership for various business ventures and strategic growth initiatives.

“I look forward to working with Sports Field Holdings as they bring their state-of-the-art athletic facilities and sports complexes to schools and communities throughout the country,” Lewis said in a prepared statement. “The company’s Replicated Grass brings together turf performance and athlete safety, and I hope to leverage my experience as an athlete to further their research and development efforts.”

Sports Holdings official Jeromy Olson added: “As a long-time professional, Ray Lewis has considerable experience with the turf industry from an athlete’s perspective. Our partnership is founded on the common understanding that the marketplace is in need of the next generation of technology in synthetic turf that will provide a superior product that prioritizes athlete safety and is constantly subject to innovation.”

During his 17-year NFL career, Lewis garnered significant accolades as a premier middle linebacker, including two Super Bowl championships, 13 Pro Bowls and two Defensive Player of the Year awards. Lewis also works for ESPN as an NFL analyst.
