Master Sweeping

The Sweep Master turf brush, from Gandy, allows topdressing material to sift through natural or artificial turf and raises the blades of grass to reduce matting. The 40-by-78-inch unit features eight individual brushes set in a double-diamond pattern. The upper framework is made of 11-gauge steel with loosely bolted, 3/8-inch angle cross members, allowing the unit to flex with the ground’s contours. For use with utility vehicles, Cushman Trucksters or small turf tractors.

The Doctor is In

Newstripe’s Dirt Doctor Jr. infield groomer is designed to be pulled by 4WD utility vehicles or compact tractors. Weighing just under 600 pounds, the machine can plow, pulverize, compact and finish drag a 4-foot wide path in one pass. The three-position reversible harrow teeth, four-position pulverizer bar and wheels can be adjusted without tools. An optional 6-foot finish drag with reversible lead bar can be detached and used as a separate pull-behind drag for between-innings touchups.

Trick Out Your Truckster

TurfTime Equipment’s Truckster-mounted topdresser runs off the Truckster’s standard hydraulics. With a 20-inch wide belt and 7-by-20-inch metering gate opening, the topdresser can spread wet or dry materials from a narrow, heavy band to a 30-foot wide dusting.

Turf Tool

The TurfSlicer, from g2 turftools, Inc., is a tractor attachment that can be operated with existing controls, installed on a TurfFloat frame to float and slice an area at the same time or installed on a separate TurfSlicer frame.

When attached to the TurfFloat frame, the unit grinds up aeration cores, mixes the material with topdressing and redeposits it into low areas. At the same time, the slicing action penetrates that thatch area to provide air space while cutting and replanting existing stolons.

Phosphate-Free Fertilizer

ZeroPhos, from Grigg Brothers, is a phosphate-free granular fertilizer that provides three-season feeding while mitigating phosphate impact. ZeroPhos is a 7-0-14 formulation that is well suited to environmentally sensitive areas. The fertilizer contains micronutrients specially formulated with sucrates that are absorbed quickly.

Irrigate Large Areas With Ease

Underhill’s MicroEase Large Area Kits (ME-SS-PK) include 25, 6-inch spikes, each featuring an eight-stream pattern with adjustable flow and radius. Flow adjusts up to .4 GPM, and the radius adjusts from 0 to 14 feet. The Large Area Kit is designed for planting beds and limited areas around clubhouses or other facilities.
